The Monroe staff would first like to welcome all of our new residents! We’re very excited to get to know all of you at all of the awesome events your Community Assistants have planned for you this month. Our events are the perfect opportunity for both new and returning residents to meet new people, build on skills, and enjoy your time at The Monroe to the fullest!
Reminder: Everyone still has the opportunity to renew for next year if you haven’t done so already! We know moving tends to be a struggle, and we would love to help you avoid going through that again.
— The Monroe
The pool is now open! Nothing beats being able to lay out in the sun and jump into the pool on a hot summer day.
Our new website is up and running! Visit themonroeliving.com for more information regarding our name change and potential changes that will be occurring in the community.
Residents are still not allowed to store trash on the balconies. You can be fined for leaving bags of trash on the balcony, so we ask that everyone please immediately take any trash that you need to dispose of to the dumpsters located around the property.
Reminders & Updates
Our office hours have changed! We’re now open Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon–4 p.m.
We are no longer accepting partial payments, so any payments submitted in the office from now on must be the full balance that you have on your account. We also still DO NOT accept money in the office, so please be sure to only bring a check or money order for any payments.
We do have the new online payment system set up now! If you haven’t gotten your online resident portal account set up yet, please notify us so we can set it up for you! You’ll be able to check your balance, submit work orders, and pay rent online using this account.
Rent is still due the 1st of each month. You have until the 4th to pay rent without any additional late fees. Starting the 5th, you will be charged an initial $35 late fee and $10 every day after that until you pay your rent. Our new name is officially The Monroe, so all checks or money orders from now on should be made out to The Monroe.
We have been sending out updates and additional information to everyone’s emails, so please make sure you are keeping up with your email.
Summer Like a Local
Whether you’re going home or staying put for the summer, take advantage of all our community has to offer! Summers can be a great chance to enjoy the area in some new and different ways. With the hectic pace of school, many students miss out on opportunities to get involved and have fun in their local community during the academic year — it’s time to change that! From festivals to parks and local attractions, below are some ways you can summer like a local. As a bonus, most of them are either free or very affordable!
- Do something touristy
- Visit a farmers market
- Check out a local sporting event
- Visit your Chamber of Commerce website to find out about local attractions
- Find a calendar of nearby fairs and festivals
- Enjoy Fourth of July festivities and fireworks
- Hike or bike a nearby trail
- Volunteer with a local organization
- Have a picnic
- Go to an outdoor movie or concert
- Run or walk a local 5K
We’ll also be planning events and activities for you throughout the summer, and if you need ideas for other fun things to do in the area, please let us know. We have information on area resources and a local calendar of events on hand to give you plenty of options. Have a memorable and fun summer!
Undercover Hero — Thursday, June 15 from 3–5 p.m. — Are you struggling to find summer volunteer opportunities? Come out to the game room and learn about different volunteer opportunities that you can participate in over the summer and gain the potential to be someone’s undercover hero.
