What You Need to Know About the Bloomington Farmersi Market | The Monroe

Drive anywhere out of a city in Indiana and you’ll see why farmer’s markets have such a following here. There’s more agriculture than we know what to do with, but thankfully, local growers and artisans have sustained the open-air market tradition in Bloomington. Here’s your short and sweet guide to all the local farmer’s markets.

The Bloomington Community Farmer’s Market

Open from April through Thanksgiving, this market host cooking contest, kids activities, and of course, locally-grown produce from surrounding farms. Stop by to taste test award-winning salsa and try your hand at the farmers’ own recipes. Take your time browsing fresh and prepared foods, and chat up the farmers about what’s in season.

Along with treats from local farmers, you’ll find the City Animal Shelter’s adoptable pets making an appearance every weekend. Find your next furry friend at the market in front of City Hall. Get your annual and perennial plants, as well as preserves, crafts, and even live local entertainment
